Hapag-Lloyd introduces peak season surcharge from Asia and Oceania to South Africa




German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has announced that the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from Asia and Oceania to South Africa will remain in effect from June 6 until further notice.

The Hamburg-based shipping company will charge a freight rate of USD 1,000 per TEU from Asia and Oceania (Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna) and Mainland China to South Africa (Durban and Cape Town).
